I am so excited to share this sweet, intimate wedding with you all!  One of the most special aspects of being able to plan and coordinate a wedding is the opportunity to genuinely get to know the bride, groom & their families on an intimate level and on a day that is filled with so much love.  At every wedding I look forward to watching the sweet interactions between the couple and their families.  Caitlin and Matt both come from large families and my assistant, Taylor and I walked away from their wedding in awe of the closeness and love that they all have for one another.  It was evident throughout the entire day and that right there is what life is all about!

Caitlin and Matt took pictures prior to their wedding ceremony at a family farm in Michigan and it was the perfect backdrop for a first look, gorgeous pictures and of course, for the boys to be boys!

Their ceremony and reception took place at Willow Harbor Vineyards, a gorgeous outdoor venue with a beautiful barn, arbor & reception tent located in southwest Michigan.  I absolutely loved that Caitlin chose a mix of colors and flowers for her arrangements- deep reds, whites, pinks, yellows and purples.  Nothing matched perfectly and that is what made it all beautiful!

Let’s be honest- your bridesmaids are pretty darn important & it means everything to have them standing by you on your big day! But, it can sometimes be a little daunting trying to find the perfect gift for them. Am I right? Today, I’m sharing some fun, meaningful & cute items to build the perfect gift bag for your girls. I promise, they will love these!

The Alex and Ani bracelets have to be my favorite! They have a ton of different designs to choose from. For my wedding, I bought each one of my bridesmaids a different bracelet that reminded me of them and/or our friendship. It was a great way to add more meaning behind the gift.

Wedding season means bridal shower season! If you’ve been honored as Maid/Matron of Honor, here are 5 tips to help you plan the perfect shower for the bride-to-be!

1. First and foremost, think of the bride. When planning a bridal shower be sure to keep in mind who you’re planning the shower for. You most definitely want the shower to represent the bride. Tying in her favorite colors, food & personality will make it that much more meaningful.

2. Budget. Rally up the bridesmaids and come up with a budget that is realistic for everyone early on in the planning process. As awkward as it may be, kindly ask the bridesmaids to send you a check. You’ll have to order invites, decor & food ahead of time, so this will help cushion your bank account. Once you’ve come up with an agreed upon budget, prioritize what’s most important & be sure to keep track of your spending. At the end of everything, if you have money left over you can divide among those who contributed or put it toward a gift for the bride.

3. Write out your timeline. This always helps me stay on track with various deadlines. Ordering supplies online can most definitely save you money (and time) later on. However, if you’re doing everything last minute you will be paying for expedited shipping. Planning ahead will save you money, and will also give you peace of mind, which, let’s be real- is even more important some days!

4. Ask for help! You’re not expected to do this alone! If you need help running errands- just ask! You’d be surprised how willing people are to help, so take full advantage. Depending on the size of the bridal shower, ask the bridesmaids to come early to help set up. Have a plan going into the shower and delegate tasks to certain bridesmaids. For example, having someone play “bartender” at the Mimosa Bar, while another bridesmaid restocks food & desserts.

5. Most importantly, have fun! You worked hard, you deserve it! Grab that mimosa and make a toast to you’re BFF and her soon-to-be hubs! After all, you are there to celebrate!

Wedding season will be here oh so soon, which means it’s time to shop for bridesmaids dresses.  If you’re not sure where to start, I am sharing a few different options when it comes to styling your bridesmaids.

  1. You pick the dress, or two or three.  Take your bridesmaids out shopping to find either one dress or a few.  This can and will get a little tricky if your ladies are all different shapes and sizes.  You want to be sure your girls will be comfortable in a dress you choose.  Remember, they want to feel pretty on your big day too.  For you.
  2. Pick a designer.  This is always a really good option for the bride who wants to give her girls options, but is a little scared giving too many options.  You can choose a couple different designers and colors to offer the girls or you can hone in on one specific designer.  If you choose to go this route, Amsale and Jenny Yoo are a couple designers that have a great selection of bridesmaids dresses that complement each other beautifully.
  3. Pick a color scheme.  Choose a color scheme and let your bridesmaids find a dress that flatters them and fits their budget.  I do recommend ‘signing off’ on their dress choice to ensure there aren’t any surprises come wedding day.  Some brides prefer to have them all short or long, so be sure to specify that as well.  I personally think pictures look best when all bridesmaids have the same dress length 🙂
  4. Pick a pattern.  I must say, I am loving this one right now!  You can choose lace, floral or sequin & sparkle.  Or you can have some bridesmaids in a patterned dress and some in a solid color- so pretty!
